01Biography

The blues, laid bare.

Twelve hundred shows later, the blues comes back to the essentials.

A Liverpool native, Laurence Jones is an award-winning, critically acclaimed blues-rock guitarist. Classically trained, he earned a Distinction at Grade 8 by the age of 18 and signed his first record deal at just 17. His album 'Thunder In The Sky' (2012) brought him a string of accolades and revealed a signature sound where the energy of rock meets the tradition of the blues.

On stage, he has opened for living legends: Ringo Starr, Sir Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Walter Trout and Status Quo. After a shared jam session, Buddy Guy described him as 'a young Eric Clapton', and Music Radar ranked him among the ten best blues-rock guitarists in the world.

Several British Blues Awards, more than 50,000 albums sold and a number-one spot on the UK's official Jazz & Blues chart: Laurence Jones has nothing left to prove. With 'On My Own', his first solo acoustic tour, he returns to his roots for a stripped-back, heartfelt blues that is both intimate and bursting with power.
