01Biography

Between sky and earth.

When music rises above pain to celebrate life.

With Adamas, his sixth album and his third on Blue Note, where he has been signed since 2015, Charles Pasi delivers a work of memory and renewal. The title, meaning untameable in Greek and evoking the diamond, echoes his passion for gemmology. The album is dedicated to his father and to his manager Maurice Suissa, both of whom have passed away.

Conceived during the pandemic, this record moves through loss, love and resilience. Charles sings in English, French and Italian, blending blues, pop and folk influences. The first single, Garbage Dog, brings in rasta singer Queen Omega, while Nino, Cielo e Terra pays tribute to his father in his first-ever Italian song, raw with emotion.

From Addict to The Eyes of Cecilia, the album explores addiction and the strength to survive, and ventures into the instrumental with Marmelade Blues and Mikado. Backed by some thirty musicians, including saxophonist Baptiste Herbin and sound engineer Michael Brauer, Adamas reveals a moving sincerity, where music rises above pain to honour life.
